Hi friends! We’ve been slacking a bit on posts, so here’s a short summary of the past month or so:
1. Short visit to the Bay Area. We hoped to come through again, but #3 interfered.
2. Visit to SoCal to visit family.
3. We moved, again. Our lease was up and the owner wanted to sell, so we had to move. It was easier than the last time around, but we still shudder at the sight of U-Haul vans.
4. Allie went on an amazing yoga retreat held by the inspiring Kimber Simpkins.
5. We joined my family for a two-week trip in Florida, in celebration of my dad’s retirement from teaching. He taught high school math for 36 years! We went on a cruise with Celebrity Cruises (awesome, beautiful ship, no seasickness) and visited South Beach Miami, the Everglades, and had two days in Walt Disney World visiting Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Fantastic family time. And then last night we met friends for dinner in St. Petersburg.
And that brings us to today…we are going to Greece! We fly to Athens in a couple hours, taking an indirect route that has us landing about 30 hours later. No matter, for we will be dreaming of feta and olives and other divine Grecian things. We are staying three nights in Athens, and beyond that our plans are open. Greek isles beckon, and despite every guidebook’s warning to “avoid the Greek isles in July and August when tourists pack the beaches like sardines and the locals start snarling” we will probably go anyway.
